The Ice Age

Well, no joy here today. I have no heat except for a couple of small heaters.

Thankfully, it isn't supposed to be too cold for a couple of days.
I have my wonderful electric co-op to thank for this. Sometime, night before last, we had a power surge that not only burned out my thermostat but blew up a couple of pieces in my not so easy to find parts for furnace. Yay! We changed the thermostat and the pieces in the furnace, but it still doesn't work. At least we're closer to getting it fixed. More things are working now then before. I wish I could get the electric company to pay for it, but you know that's not going to happen. We couldn't prove it it was them when they blew up my refrigerator. Crappy people.

Well, Christmas is quickly approaching. Raise your hands. We all know who you are. I'm so not ready. I've only gotten K a few little presents. Just enough to make maybe 5 presents under the tree. Then there's always Santa, and I here he's WAY behind this year. It doesn't help this child doesn't tell me what she wants. I pretty much have to guess, and I'm NOT buying her store bought toys this year. Too many risks. Like I need her to die from lead poisoning or end up in a coma from accidently taking a date rape drug. Then there's the family who are absolutely impossible to shop for. I think I might pretend Christmas didn't come this year. Just hide the Christmas tree, tear down the chimney, lock the doors, and snuggle under my blankets until the 26th. Who's with me?!

Do some Christmas shopping this week, and buy the bangle in the picture for yourself or a friend. My jewelry recently has taken an Art Deco flair which shows in the sterling silver bangle. I've always adored the Art Deco style, and I really think I've found my niche of modernizing an Art Deco style. Anyway. Check it out. It's in my shop.

I'm with you! Christmas has gotten so commercialized--it's ridiculous!
The Christmas trees went up in the stores here right after Halloween. Our daughter just turned 15 and is hard to buy for in another way. She's strong minded as to what she likes & dislikes so she does make a list--but then wonders why she never has any surprises!

With 3 shows coming up, I can't even begin to shop yet.

Thanks for letting me vent! Lol!

My son won't tell us what he wants either. Keeps telling us that Santa's "dwarves" know, so he doesn't have to tell us. Rrrr.
