So, I sat myself down to work yesterday and had a great, simple idea for a bride's necklace. I get halfway through the project when my torch goes empty. Don't you just hate when that happens?! Of course, since I live a thousand miles from nowhere I have to wait until today to get a new one. It may have been just what I needed as I'm going crazy to get a few things done.
Since I couldn't work on jewelry last night, I worked on my new cleaning closet. You see we removed the old furnace and drywalled the walls. It's in the laundry room so it will be perfect for laundry detergent, vacuum, broom, and anyother cleaning supplies. I have about ten more minutes worth of sanding to do on it before it can take paint. I will be so happy to have my first project completed. We have lots of projects started that have not been completed. This is Steve's fault because he just can't seem to get them to the finishing point so I can finish them. I'm the finisher- spackle, sanding, paint. I do all the things that might have to finish the project. It's time to crack the whip so to speak.
I also got a bit of good news yesterday. Steve called to say he was getting a surprise check from someone who shall remain nameless for something that shall remain nameless. Sorry about the secrecy, but I've had to edit myself for reasons that shall remain nameless. lol. Don't worry. It's all legal. lol. Yay! Gotta love surprises like that. It's like Christmas all over again. It also means that this year(cross my fingers) my birthday should be good instead of finding out the house I'm living in is being foreclosed upon. But, that's another story for those that missed it. Here's to having good birthdays. Don't think I've ever had a birthday where something bad didn't happen. Knocking on wood this time. Anyway. This bonus came at a great time because our electric bill was about to send us to the poor house, and I'm out of building materials to remodel the house. I also found the final piece I need to complete my house- the bathtub. I saw it Monday at Habitat store. It was one of those with a jet and just huge. They had two. One for $50 and the other for $125. I'm going back tomorrow. I hope they're still there so I can get one.
Tonight, though, I'm going to the auction. They have another danish modern piece I can now afford. The bonus was real good. Anyone want me to get them anything? Oh, and those vintage cabs and inspired findings are at Orchid. Almost forgot.

Don't you just love those little just-in-time bonus'? I could use one right about now!
We'll keep wishing for a beautiful birthday this year.
I'd love to find some finds like you have. :-)
I totally hope you have an excellent b-day & I hope they've still the bathtub you want! Why the disparity in price? And congrats on being so close to finishing your cleaning room! :D Accomplishment of task is so satisfying. :)
Smitten, one tub has the jet motor and the other doesn't. Not a big deal to me since Steve knows all about motors and electrics, but I might get the one with the motor anyway if it's there.
Gotta love Habitat.
Good luck at the auction...buy lots of (cheap) goodies.
Here's to a good birthday! And to getting one project finished!
nothing like a suprise bonus to cheer you up! I hope you got one of those baths and had fun at the auction. How nice that it was timed just before your birthday too.
: )
I am DYING to know the secret behind the money.....
I'm like Nancy Drew...tell me or I will have to investigate.
