The Longest Weekend

Well, I have to admit I am rather glad that that weekend is over! Boy, am I tired!

I admit it. On Friday, we went out! But, mostly just to get some $4 shoes for myself. They aren't anything fantastic. Just slip on clogs, but I love those for just running to the store. We did end up getting a few other things.

Saturday was my favorite day of all. We went to an auction. My favorite auction of all time! I did not realize that they were having a Black Friday auction of sorts. Every year the guy with the new stuff, as I call him, brings a couple of trailer loads to auction off. In conjunction, they also have boxes to give to a local project-The Giving Tree. The Giving Tree is a sort of Toys for Tots program. They supply presents to children in need. Here's how the auction worked. You got tickets for certain purchases. You got two tickets for donating something to the box. At the end of the night, they did giveaways with the tickets. I would've given anyway. I had a deal with K. For every toy I bought her for Christmas, we put one in the box. Not that she needed this. She's such a great kid. Several times she had me buy things just to put in the box like hats. She said the kids needed hats too.

I did most of my Christmas shopping there. It was awesome. I got this little travel bag for my granny. It's a Lori Greiner product. I've blogged about her goodies before. $12 for this bag! Shhhh! Don't tell Lori. ;)

Look at this cute little elephant I got for myself. Like I needed to add another to my collection, but he was just too cute. He lights up and spins the "snow" around. Yes, I know he's a toy, but he's cute.

I got this for my mom. I wish I had gotten a better pic. This is the pic on the box. It really is beautiful. It's a picture frame/shadowbox/shelf. I should've gotten one for myself. $12 for that too!

Here's one of the toys I got for K. I got her a doodle snowman to go with it, and one of each went in the box.

I also got some phones for the house, a couple of toys for K, and some of those Zorbee things that you see on tv for Steve. It was an awesome night from which I am still recovering. And, I'm so happy that there are some kids who will be getting some great toys for Christmas!

Make sure you stop back tomorrow for the Merry SITSmas blogathon! Especially if you missed my Black Friday deals!
