Look at what came in the mail
An invitation to a Halloween Ball,
Through the gate we go
Late we shall not be,
The dinner menu has been posted
Take a candle to light your way,
The garden is beautiful in the October night air
The table is set to perfection,
The Halloween fairies are in attendance
See them sparkle and glow at the party's edge,
The disco boogie beat has begun
And everyone is feeling the fever,
As the sweet serenade strains for the stars
A lover waits for her heart's return,
And while the party rages into the night
A moment I need to rest my weary bones.

You can see my last year's post here and some goodies I won and might have noticed in this year's post here.

An Invite
Since the weather has turned very Fall-like, I have been thinking of Fall decorating and Halloween. Yes, I am as bad as the stores, but it's like October all ready so my internal clock is slightly amiss.
If you weren't here last year, Halloween is my favorite holiday. Don't ask me why. I guess it's because it was the only holiday where I could go all out with decorating, and my mother let me do whatever I wanted. Whereas, Christmas was her turn to decorate, and I only got to help. Then there were the kids that came for trick or treating. I was a legend. (My ego is slightly large and in charge today.)
Anyway. That leads me to this. An invitation to afanciful twist's Halloween blog party! I participated last year with this post. It was a lot of fun reading everyone's contributions. Plus, there were some giveaways where I won this stuff which I am so using this year.
So, follow the invite and play along. The more the merrier. Creativity is a powerful thing and sometimes it's good to be a kid again.

Fabulous Funday
Yesterday, my mom, my daughter, and I went to the free ORBC fall festival. It's like a carnival held as a safe alternative to trick or treating. There's games, bouncy rides, kids fingerprinting, and photos, and everything is free!
Costumes are optional, but in the case of these lovely ladies, you go all out if you wear one. These are my kind of people. How fantastic were they for letting a complete stranger take their pic?!
Who do you think I had trouble with about the photos? This is how that conversation went:
Me: We're going to get our pics taken next.
Mom: Go ahead.
Me: No, I meant all of us including you.
Mom: But, I don't want my pic taken. (slightly whining now.)
Me: But, it's free.
Mom: Do I have to?
Me: Yes, so we can have the three of us together.
Mom: I'm wearing my sunglasses.
Me: No, you're not.
Mom: I'm going to look like this....(proceeds to make a funny face.)
Me: You'd better not. Now behave.
Pics were finally taken and should arrive in a couple of weeks. She better be smiling.
Speaking of carnivals make sure you check out Fractured Toy for a bloggy carnival and a chance to win a Kooky Klicker.

Untitled Halloween Story
Today is the day for the Halloween Party sponsored by A Fanciful Twist. Her blog is all gussied up for the party. Since she brought the treats and the decorations, I would bring the story. What Halloween party isn't complete without a story?
Don't be harsh. My daughter and I wrote this, and she helped take the pics. Without further adieu:
"The full moon lighted our way.

A Photo Fiesta
Today is Photo Fiesta at Candid Carrie's. You are supposed to pick out your favorite photo and tell why. Here's mine.
It's my favorite because my daughter helped me take the picture. I positioned it and she took it. It was a spur of the moment pic on a day trip. Plus, there is just something about the abandoned tracks seemingly going on forever into the unknown.
Time to announce my new blog feature now. Well, it's at least time to discuss it.
I was thinking, and let me know what you think, I could do a blog feature once a week or every couple of weeks on my blog readers. An interview of sorts. A way for all of us to connect and learn about each other.
I could post a pic, if you let me, and several interview questions. If you have a blog or Flickr, I, of course, would link to you. There would be questions, but they wouldn't be hard.
Any suggestions for questions? Would you read the interview or be willing to participate? Let me know what you think. Also, don't forget about my giveaway and the Halloween party tomorrow!
