Almost 100!

What a weekend! It literally rained here all weekend. Now, I'm afraid I'm going to blow away. Hope your weekend was good.

As promised, here is my Tornado pendant to match the earrings I had on Friday. I have to say that I prefer this to the earrings though I like both. The larger size suits the design. It is made the same as the earrings with aluminum spirals riveted to copper triangles. It will be found in my shop in just a short while. I am at 99 sales! Only 1 more to go until 100. I'm hoping to reach that by Wednesday which is my 1 year etsyversary. Remember you can get 25% off until Wednesday if you mention anniversary during checkout, and my 100th sale will receive a free gift. I'm supposed to be in the Showcase on Etsy, but it seems there have been some difficulties. Hopefully, they will have it up later today.

Tomorrow Home Improvement Roundup will continue. I figure as long as I have so many home improvement projects to work on/finish I could do a whole segment in my blogs for it. Discuss products I use, how-tos, advice, and whatever I feel like. We'll see how it turns out.

Not Much of Anything

It's Friday! Hooray! I hope all of you have something fantastic planned for this weekend. I, for one, will be sleeping as K will be with my mother.

Here are my latest pair of earrings. I am really quite proud of these. Not just for the design, but I drilled the holes in the aluminum all by myself. The aluminum spirals are riveted to copper triangles. I seem to be in a riveting mood. I promise I won't be continually do riveted pieces as I have some new cabs from Willow Glass that I want to work with. These earrings will be listed in my shop shortly. Like the earrings, watch for a matching pendant that I need to list as well.

I really have very little to talk about. This has been a very boring week which after last week is a welcome. The most exciting thing that happened to me, other than my hot water heater, is that I found a new soy, corn, and wheat free dog food. I even got to speak with the representative at the store. It's called Blue Buffalo in case you are interested. It seems like a really great dog food. The dogs seem to enjoy it, and I don't have to worry about it killing them. It's definitely not on the list of over 400 recalled products. I checked. Well, I suppose that's it for today. xoxoxox

10 facts about me

I've got a little to talk about today. New cuff and 10 little known facts.

Fresh off the Jewel Street Designs presses so to speak is this bracelet. This cuff has been sitting on my table for about 2 months waiting to be finished. I finally got Steve to drill the holes because, you see, I cannot drill more than 1 hole without screwing something up. I finally forced him to drill them. After that, this cuff was a breeze. In my personal opinion, it is the perfect width cuff. Not too big and not too small. I riveted aluminium bands in a crisscross pattern along the sides. I like riveting. It was so much fun. If this cuff tickles your fancy, it will be available in my shop in just a little while. Remember I'm having that anniversary sale as well. Mention anniversary during checkout to receive 25% off.

The winners of the beads4you winter beading challenge were announced. I somehow missed this announcement but was made aware of it by someone else. I did not win! Boo! But, my headband did get an honorable mention as "most likely to be worn by faerie". I think that is pretty neat and special for me as it was my first headband. Congrats to the two winners!

Okay. So I was tagged by Jenn and Gillian to list 10 little known facts about me. Really, it wasn't that hard because I am a virtual recluse. Not much is known about me. I tried to pick out the 10 things that only 3 people other than myself would know- my mother, Steve, and K. So here we go:

1. I am totally, undeniably, deathly afraid of the dark. Always have been. Still cannot sleep without some sort of light on. I can't even go outside at night without some kind of light on. If the lights go out at night, I completely freeze up. Because of this, I cannot stop myself from buying candles and hurricane lamps.
2. I have seen every "Halloween"/Michael Meyers movie there is. All 8 or however many there are. I've even seen the ones like 3 and 4 that they don't even show on tv unless they are doing some kind of marathon. He's my favorite horror villian. He's comical and bad all at the same time.
3. I have a shoe fetish which is odd in light of fact #4. I love shoes. I would have a closet full of just shoes if I could. I especially like shoes that I know I will never wear, and really it is not about wearing the shoes because if I'm at home I never have shoes on my feet. It's just about the shoes.
4. Feet. I hate them. I don't even like my own feet. In fact, the only feet I don't mind are baby feet. I don't like feet near me and most especially not touching me. I won't even touch socks that have touched feet. Feet are gross.
5. Before I started Jewel Street Designs, I was employed as a roofer. My only other job since K has been born. Truthfully, I didn't mind doing it. In fact, I kind of liked it. There was something about being up on a roof drinking coffee in the wee hours of the morning. THe worst part was tear off, but then we could go to the hill(the dump).
6. I lived in a camper at one point in time. I mean, one of those attach to a trailer hitch on the back of your car and drive to whereever kind of campers. This is a fact that I do not go around boasting about. It was a neccessity though.
7. I'm allergic to spiders. Even the most innoccuous spiders will cause to me to swell really big. I know this because I was bit by a spider on my face a couple of years ago and had to go to the hospital because half my face was swelled up like a tomato. Still have the scar from the bite.
8. I have a honest to goodness birthmark-on my butt! It's grown smaller(or maybe my butt has just gotten bigger) over the years, but it's still there. I'm the only one in my family with one. Maybe that means I'm adopted.
9. There is this whole ritual I have to preform with my blankets when I go to bed. It drives everyone nuts including my dog. First of all, I have to have blankets I don't care if it's 100degrees outside. Then they have to be pulled up one at a time and stretched over my head. They all have to be completely even and completely even on the bed. God forbid if anyone tries to get more covers.
10. My best little known fact. I am a wasp whisperer. It's true. I seem to be able to talk to wasps or have the right kind of smell or something. I've never been stung by one. They land on me and walk around. I can even stick my hand on top of a nest and be fine. Don't ask how I know about this because that is a story for another post, but it's true.
Well that's my 10 facts. I don't know how exciting they are, but that's them. Now I'm supposed to tag 10 other people, but truthfully, I don't know that many people who blog. Plus, since I am so slow, everyone I do know has all ready been tagged. So, I'm tagging Steph and Craftymoose(even though I know she has been tagged by Gillian too). If I think of anyone else to tag, I'll let you know.
