Blue Flowers Save the Day

Well, I was getting all ready to pick the winners of the Easter Bunny Hunt but I remembered that I gave you until the 29th to email me with your bunny count. So you all better be countin' and get those emails to me... gift certificates are at stake here. So, now I have to figure out something else to blog about.

I have literally got nothing. A blank page in front of me. No ideas in my head. Do you really want to hear about jewelry again? Probably not. Got no projects in a middle stage to show you. No flower pictures that you haven't all ready seen. Hmmm.... I hate when I'm empty headed.

So, I will leave you with these new earrings available in my etsy shop. I love them.



What do think? I think they'd make a lovely wall hanging or candleholders too if I made them larger.

The Anything and Everything Post

Today's post is probably going to be a little all over the place. Don't have much time either as my phone lines are being worked on. After 4 years of complaining and griping, they are going to trench us a new line at their expense. Rock on, business plan!

First of all, I have been dying to do a bloggy swap after reading all the swaps JenSue does and the one Laura just did. Well, here's my chance. The fabulous and most lovely, Mamarazzi, is having a Favorite Things Swap. What you do is fill up a box with $20-$30 of your favorite things and mail it to your partner. Here's an example of things I might put in the box: some sort of elephant cause I love elephants, seeds because I love to garden, copper jewelry because well you know, handmade soap cause I am a soap freak. See? It's going to be so much fun so head on over to her blog and get in on the action. She even links to the swap she did before so you can see some of the things she received last time.

Remember my mad hatter ring? Well, it made it onto the front page of Etsy as well as being featured in the gift guides. Yay! So very excited about that. You can see it in the gift guides here.



My Sego Lily ring and the Mad Hatter ring are both in the Ebsq shows for January so if you are an Ebsq member please go over and vote for my pieces, but only if you like them the most.

Mad Hatter Fashion

Bet you thought I was slacking this week with all those giveaways, didn't you? Well, I sort of did, but I got some work done.

Remember this post where I asked for help with Alice in Wonderland and State flowers? Today is the debut of a couple of the items I came up. First, is Mad Hatter Fashion as I call this ring. A copper hat with a sterling hat tag on a copper band ring. I formed each of the three pieces of the hat separately then soldered them together. The hat tag is stamped with 10/6 just like the Mad Hatter's. This is a formidable ring. Not a single person would miss this if you were wearing it. What do you think?



A little help as I'm debating on backgrounds. Do you like the black background or the grey better?



Now for the state flowers. I chose to do the Sego Lily which is the state flower of Utah first, but there will be more forthcoming. I love lilies, and I particularly loved the lines and shape of this flower. This is also a mixed metal ring, but I'm planning to do earrings as well. There are 3 individual pieces- the triangle shaped petals, the large petals, and the stamen. Each of these was formed then soldered together. The band, again, is copper. I'm thinking of doing this in reverse as well with the flower being sterling and the stamen being copper. This one is not quite completed but will be by the end of the day. I still have some sanding and polishing to do. Just thought you might be interested in seeing an inbetween stage.
