Craft Show Quest Part 3

This is the third installment of my craft show quest. I don't have any pictures of my booth setup. I don't know why, but this is a picture of the river I was beside.

I was invited to this show. Received the application, it sounded very interesting and wasn't very expensive to try. Plus, as a little girl I always wanted to go to a garden party.

The weather forcast for the day of the show was not particularly pleasing. Rain, Rain, and more rain. What the heck! At the very worst I would have to turn around and come home. I arrived a little earlier than expected and had time to chat with some of the locals. Turns out there was a kids fishing tournament across the street. Kids means moms. Hooray! When the organizer arrives, I find out I my choice of spots. I pick the best spot possible. Right across from the whole reason for the show-the garden tour tickets. Within five minutes of my being there, drama has broken out. One vendor is a little upset she can't share a booth with her friend who as of yet has not arrived. She decides to pack it in, waste her money, and go home. Ha! Turns out she was my only competition. Now if only the rain would hold off.

People starting pouring in by the time I finish getting set up. Sales were slow at first. Then started to pick up a couple of hours into the show. I had customers of all ages which is good for me because it proves my jewelry is appropriate for everyone. About lunchtime, the clouds roll in, looking very ominous. I debated as to whether I should pack it in or not. Not! I just get out the tarp to cover up my merchandise if need be. It sprinkles but doesn't really turn into anything. I have one lady on her way to the slots stop to check out my jewelry. Very cool!

I love garden partys and tours. People were flocking to see these historic gardens were buying my jewelry along the way. This show was the best so far because I was the only jewelry vendor. How often is that going to happen? No one was complaining about prices which is awesome. By the end of the show, I had made 4x table. This show is going right to the top of my list. Posted by Picasa
