Getting to know me. Getting to know all about me.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the US. Most of us will be gathered with friends or family or both. Unless you're like me and had your Thanksgiving dinner early. I figured this was a great day to do a post about me and my family.

First, there's me, Aimee. I'm a jewelry designer, stay at home mom, a tad bit boring, a teensy bit sarcastic, and a whole lot Diva. I love to work with my hands whether it's refinishing furniture, painting a wall, or rebuilding a car engine. I have this strange ability to set a carbueretor by ear which isn't worth much in this day and age of fuel injection. I'm afraid of the dark. I admit it. My favorite color is blue, and I have a very large collection of elephants.

Then there's K. My kid. 9 yrs old going on 90. More Diva than I am. Much funnier as well. A craftaholic and born artist. She is a natural born racer though I'm too terrified to let her try to much. She has her own style and is way ahead of her time. Is a mother hen like her mother and takes care of me when I have one of my migraines. Couldn't imagine my life without her.

Steve. He will now and forever be known as the man. A former marine because, in case you did not know, there is no such thing as an ex marine. Totally psychotic, obsessive compulsive, and a germ a phobe. Has a fascination with speakers and music. Currently he has a cold which has reverted him to acting like a baby and driving me up the wall. Gives me a store bought pecan pie in the box every Thanksgiving to take home and cook. See how she pushes the cooking?!

My mom. Geriatric nurse. Works too much. Is who I inherited the Dolly Parton boobs from. Has no sense of color. Sells Mary Kay. Will be late to her own funeral she is that chronically late. Loves Paula Dean Cookbooks. Can't understand why I don't cook. Drives me crazy when I don't do things on her schedule. ( Hello, mom, have my own life now!)

Granny. My surrogate mother and my grandmother. Helped raise me when I was younger. The youngest of like 8 kids. Is a little fruity and a lot accident prone. Carries a suitcase for a purse (not really but it seems like it). Has a clothing store at her house. I mean it. I just say I'm going shopping at Granny's Boutique. I just got two super cool leather jackets for myself. Looks a little like Angela Lansbury during her Murder She Wrote heyday. Loves to travel and knows every other person on the planet. I would not be surprised if she knows someone you know.

Well, that pretty much covers the family I speak to. It's a long story and best saved for another day. Rather complicated and a little strange like us. Sorry I don't have a lot of pics. I never have the camera when I need it, but at least, you know a little more about me than you did before.

Hope you have a remarkable and enjoyable Thanksgiving! Don't forget to be here for Black Friday for my very special specials.

I took my first ever jewelry making class this semester. I made a ring which I wear every single day, a pendant, which is not quite as wearable and a keychain which taught me many techniques. I never imagined the work that goes into making jewelry.
