Time Flies

I do apologize my lovely blog friends. This house thing is killing me. I'm going to need a vacation after all this. Why does my yard have to be so big?!

The lady in charge is supposed to be here today after making an appointment last week. We'll see if she actually shows and what she has to say. At least things should be getting back to normal after this week.

So, what I have missed? Anything exciting? I, personally, have so many things to blog about like my seedlings, my new items for my shop, and my new vintage fave that I'm keeping for myself.

There was an article yesterday in the Storque about the challenges. Very lovely. I'm crossing my fingers that I don't sound like an idiot to anyone. It's great promotion for the challenges. I do love doing them and have been so surprised that they've lasted as long as they have.

Oh, now for the pics so you know what they are. They just happen to be the latest in my little etsy shop. The first is a sterling silver bangle accented with a freeform/recycled piece of silver. One of Steve's friends rescued that for me at his job. I have a couple of other pieces that he gave me as well, but that one was the best for that piece. It's been accented with a sterling silver sphere. Next is my latest edition to my wedding collection. A very pretty copper Art Deco style tiara. Very fashionable and vintage-y. Plus, I love that it's not too tall. You know I have that problem with making things big and chunky. I don't know why I have such a hard time making delicate things.

Oh, and I have to find time to blog about my newest tv craze, The Real Housewives of NYC. Talk about catty and social climbers! Until tomorrow...(Yes, I will blog again tomorrow.)

Custom Wedding Accessories

My latest custom wedding piece is fresh of the worktable. A copper headband accented with copper wire and champagne colored pearls. The decoration is based on the dress on the dress of the lucky bride so it is shaped like wildflowers beginning to bloom. I absolutely love making wedding accessories and custom accessories are even better. If you need a custom accessory for your weddding, feel free to stop by my shop and send me shout. I would love to make your dreams come true and design your accessories around your dress, colors, or your theme.

In other news, my blog has had a little makeover. What do you think? I'm still working on some things, but so far it looks pretty good I think.

I've been home with a sick kid this weekend so I've missed some photos in the photopalooza. I don't even know what day it is, but here's one for whatever day it is. These are the first daffodils in my garden. They are blooming so early this year. I hope some wait for my birthday. It's my little pleasure in life to have daffodils blooming on my birthday.

Oversleeping, Love is in the Air, and Fairies

Oops. I overslept this morning. Dang it. Of all the mornings, I oversleep on the day I have to meet with K's teacher. You see, K is not paying attention in class or reading directions. Basically, she is just skirting by on the natural smarts that God gave her.

When I finally woke up this morning, I found that my Art Deco Love Cuff had been chosing as today's Art of the Day over on EBSQ. Their theme this week is love is in the air since Valentine's is tomorrow. Plus, my little cuff can be made into an Ecard. How fantastic is that?!

I started making my wedding tiaras again in case you know anyone getting married. I love making these tiaras. I got to see the pics of my last custom tiara on the bride recently, and they were phenomenal. I have several in the planning stage including a couple of combs. This one is called the Fairy Princess Tiara. It's inspired by fairies, mermaids, and all things fantasy. I love the look of the copper with the peacock and champagne colored pearls. It can be found in my Etsy shop.

My Childhood Dream

We still have hot water in case you were wondering.

Hooray! Finally, I have finished a challenge on time and maybe even slightly early.
I had a little help from Jenn coming up with this week's challenge idea. It was to create something inspired by what you wanted to be when you grew up. Well, I always wanted to be a fashion designer. Yes, it's true. I had sketchbooks upon sketchbooks of designs. I still, to this day, create clothing designs. I suppose, in a way, I have become what I wanted to be. That's actually kind of fun to think about. Anyway, I designed the hairpiece you see in the picture for the challenge. I figured fashion designers create fashion and trends so why not create a designer piece?! With a bride in mind, I created copper swirls that will frame an upswept hairstyle or, when the swirls are worn down, will be lovely with a longer hairstyle. I added gold freshwater pearls along the center swirls and across the top of the piece. Surprisingly, it turned out just the way I wanted. I have plans to create matching earrings and perhaps a matching necklace. Because I used pearls, I can even take custom orders. This will be found in my shop later today.

Be here tomorrow because I will finally be revealing my 10 little known facts as I was tagged by both Jenn and Gillian. Does that mean I should do 20 facts? Also, as it is 1 week until my first anniversary at Etsy, I will be offering 25% off to anyone who mentions anniversary when checking out. Plus, if you are my 100th sale, I will send you a surprise gift. I'm hoping to make it to 100 sales by my anniversary.
